Child rights and child protection
In order to respond to the growing needs in the field for training in the area of child rights and protection, IDE has developed training courses adapted to specific context, as well as to a varied audience coming from different regions of the world.
More particularly, IDE has created specific programmes for professionals working in West and East Africa. IDE also participates in the training courses proposed by the CIDE of the University of Geneva.

CAS protection and children’s rights
Course title : CAS in protection and children's rights
Partner(s) :Interfaculty Centre for Children’s Rights of UNIGE and the Institut des droits de l’homme et de la paix de l’UCAD, in Dakar (Senegal)
Target group: professionals working with and for children in West and Central Africa, professionals who work with and for children or who are involved in the defence of children's rights
- Acquire interdisciplinary, scientifically based theoretical and practical knowledge of children's rights in the fields of law, sociology, pedagogy, psychology, social work, education, public health and ethics ;
- To be familiar with tools for assessing the best interests of the child and taking into account his or her views ;
- To develop skills to apprehend difficult situations with an approach based on the rights of the child taking into account the economic and socio-cultural context ;
- Develop critical reflection on one's own practice, ethics and professional duties and acquire a working methodology ;
- Acquire new skills, including networking with an interdisciplinary and interprofessional approach.
