The International Institute for the Rights of the Child (IDE) trains professionals who work with and for children, so that children’s rights may be better known, respected and implemented.
By signing the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, States committed to ensure children’s rights training to all childhood professionals, although governments meet real problems in implementation.
Many training sessions take place "outside the walls", whether in long-term programs abroad or tailor-made training sessions. A proportion of the training provided by the IDE takes place in Switzerland, in collaboration with the University of Geneva's Center for Children's Rights Studies (CCRS).
Finally, the IDE is co-responsible, together with the CCRS, of the "Children and Youth Politics" cluster of the Swiss Center of Expertise in Human Rights (SCHR).
